WHAT MAKES A CONTACT LENS EXAM DIFFERENT?
A contact lens exam will include both a comprehensive eye exam to check your overall eye health, your general vision prescription, and a contact lens consultation + measurement to determine the proper lens fit.
WHY DO I ALSO NEED A COMPREHENSIVE EYE EXAM?
Whether or not you have vision problems, it is important to have your eyes checked regularly to ensure they are healthy and that there are no signs of a developing eye condition. A comprehensive eye exam will check the general health of your eyes as well as the quality of your vision. During this exam the eye doctor will determine your prescription for eyeglasses, however, this prescription alone is not sufficient for contact lenses. The doctor may also check for any eye health issues that could interfere with the comfort and success of contact lens wear.

Discover the best way to take care of your contact lenses for the ultimate health of your eyesight.
-
• Apply a drop or two of artificial tears to your eyes as contacts tend to get stuck on dry eyes
• Slide the lens to the white of your eye (sclera) before pulling it off
• Pull the lens downward towards your bottom lid and remove it
-
• Wash and dry your hands
• Fill your contact lens case with fresh solution
• Rub the lens in the solution in the palm of your hand
• Rinse the lens with solution
• Store the contact in its case - repeat with remaining lens
-
Don’t stretch out your lenses longer than recommended. Daily disposable lenses are designed to be worn once and then thrown away. Other contacts are designed to last longer and need to be properly cleaned and stored. Whatever you choose, replace your contacts as recommended.
Do Not Sleep In Your Contacts
Wearing your contacts at night deprives your eyes of much-needed oxygen and can lead to serious problems.
